Macarena Sánchez-Izquierdo, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid, Spain and a clinical psychologist specializing in aging. Her research in psychogerontology encompasses areas such as active aging, psycho-behavioral aspects of longevity, the impact of age-related stereotypes, anti-ageism programs, and support for caregivers of dependent older adults. She has collaborated on several Spanish and international projects aimed at promoting well-being, combating ageism, and fostering active aging. She has been actively involved in clinical practice since 2001, working with older adults and their caregivers. She is committed promoting wellness and vitality throughout aging with her participation in interdisciplinary research groups and various projects.

Hi there! I'm Rocío, and I have a PhD in Psychology. I work as an associate professor at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid, Spain. In addition to teaching, I'm a clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of severe mental disorders, mainly schizophrenia, within the public health system and the University Clinical Unit. My research focuses on promoting recovery processes and subjective well-being for this population. I'm truly passionate about my work and love being able to combine research with direct clinical care.
